How-To: Framed Jewellery Display

The finished results, on the wall!

Confession time: I am not an organized person. Oh, I can plot and plan and buy things from IKEA that are going to magically make me one, but I am, and never will be an organized person.

The fact that I know this and STILL buy everything IKEA makes is a little disturbing, but there you go.

I am also very much of the ‘out of sight, out of mind’ category, and when these two combine, it usually means I forget half of what I own because it’s buried under everything else.

I’m working on it, I promise.

Jewellery is one of these lost treasures, which is also a bit worrying since I make the damn stuff. Well anyway, while surfing around for organization ideas I came across a jewellery holders someone had made themselves with a frame and some netting. Not an original idea, I know, but it looked like a good solution for me: BAM! In sight, and maybe I won’t forget I own those really cool upcycled LP earrings.

Well the one I found online was a little...disappointing as far as aesthetics went, so after a little more surfing and a lot of staring into space, I came up with these. The surprising things are threefold: 1) It was really simple to make. 2) I actually MADE it, instead of thinking for hours and never actually doing it. 3) It actually WORKS.

It’s also potentially very cheap to make, depending on how you source materials, and a great opportunity if you’re into upcycling.

So yeah. Sharing with the interwebs world, just in case anyone else is of the same fatal personality/taste as me.

Breaking the ice...

I am terrible with blogs. I should really start by saying that. This is in fact my second attempt at this thing, and I give no guarantees.

As the blog title says, I’m a hobby addict. Writing, reading, jewellery design, crochet, cooking, webpage design, graphics, and any other things that strike my fancy.Hopefully here I can share projects and results, and maybe some people out there in internet land will enjoy.

Or I’ll be talking to myself, which isn’t much of a change from normal, anyway <3

Fair Warning: tend to get obsessed about one thing at a time, then forget about the when the next new project comes along, although I’m slowly getting better at actually seeing things through to completion (always the tricky part). I also tend to get a bit distracted during uni-time, so things may get a little sporadic.
